About Us
AMMO was established in 1978 and operates from Narrandera in Southern New South Wales. The company was formed by a group of mohair producers who believed a greater return for mohair was possible  by re-sorting, pooling and auctioning the fibre in bulk .
AMMO is a grower controlled and not for profit organisation with a Board of Directors elected from the members for a three year term. The Board may have  3 to 9  Directors.
There are currently two sales each year which  are conducted by auction in Narrandera with buyers attending in person or through an agent who bids on their behalf.

A2020 Mohair Auction
The auction on 11 September 2020 saw our first live streaming of the Auction via our Facebook page. The live streaming was a success and we would like to thank all who commented or viewed our live stream. It is an option that we feel could be used for future Auctions. As most of us would be aware the Covid 19 world pandemic has made trading conditions very difficult. Price trends at today’s AMMO Auction followed a very similar trend and price level to the most recent Cape Sale held on 8th September 2020. A 100% sale clearance was achieved. Thank you for all that participated in this sale for your patience as we transition to the new sale regime. Just a reminder that the closing date for the A2021 Sale will be mid December 2020. Of course sellers are welcome to take advantage of the advance payment of $4.00/kg. Please discuss your needs with me anytime
